Will this interfere with my chemo or radiation?
No. Acupuncture is supportive care given alongside your oncology treatment. Dr. Kim reviews your regimen and schedule and coordinates with your care team; nothing here replaces oncology treatment or medication.
My oncologist said there's nothing to do about the numbness.
That is a common answer, and it is also the gap ASCO and SIO guidelines address: acupuncture is a recommended non-pharmacologic option for CIPN. We treat CIPN routinely and track sensation and balance at every visit.
I have no energy — how often would I have to come in?
Most supportive-care plans start at once weekly, and sessions are restful rather than demanding. Dr. Kim gives you a session count and a cost estimate up front instead of an open-ended schedule.
Is it safe with low platelets or a port?
That is exactly why counts and port placement are screened at each visit. Techniques, point choice, and needle depth are adjusted, and treatment is postponed when it should be.
Treatment ended but I still feel wrecked. Can you help?
Yes. Survivorship fatigue, brain fog, unrestorative sleep, and low stamina are among the most common reasons patients come to us, often a year or more after their last infusion.

Is acupuncture safe during chemotherapy?+
For most patients, yes, with coordination. Dr. Kim screens platelet counts, port placement, lymphedema risk, and neutropenia timing, schedules around infusion days, and works alongside your oncology team at Moffitt, AdventHealth, BayCare, or Florida Cancer Specialists.
What cancer treatment side effects can acupuncture help with?+
The best-supported are chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, cancer-related fatigue, chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), aromatase-inhibitor joint pain, hot flashes, and sleep disruption.
Do oncologists actually recommend this?+
