A new Lone Star tick bite can re-elevate Alpha-Gal antibodies and, in some patients, restore reactivity. We counsel every SAAT patient on tick-prevention strategy specific to Florida (permethrin-treated clothing, DEET or picaridin, yard management, and post-outdoor tick checks).
