Her presentation, “Integrative Acupuncture Approaches for Neuropathic Pain, Chronic Pain, and Functional Neurological Conditions,” shared her clinical perspective on the use of acupuncture and integrative approaches for patients experiencing complex and often persistent symptoms. The international webinar brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, practitioners and educators to discuss developments across traditional and integrative medicine.
Bringing Specialized Acupuncture Care to a Global Conversation
At Acupuncture of West Florida, Dr. Windschauer focuses on treating patients with complex conditions, including peripheral neuropathy, chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, chronic pain and neurological symptoms.
Her participation in the conference provided an opportunity to contribute her clinical experience to a broader conversation about the role acupuncture can play in integrative healthcare. Dr. Windschauer’s work is particularly focused on patients whose symptoms significantly affect their mobility, comfort and quality of life.
A Focus on Neuropathy and Chronic Pain
Peripheral neuropathy can cause symptoms including numbness, tingling, burning, pain and changes in sensation, particularly in the hands and feet. Neuropathy may be associated with diabetes, chemotherapy and other underlying causes.
Acupuncture of West Florida evaluates patients individually and develops treatment plans based on their symptoms, history and clinical findings. Dr. Windschauer’s conference presentation explored approaches to neuropathic and chronic pain that reflect the same patient-centered philosophy used every day at the Clearwater clinic.
Advancing Education in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine
Education is an important part of Acupuncture of West Florida’s mission. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Windschauer participates in professional education, community wellness initiatives and conversations with healthcare professionals about how acupuncture may complement conventional care.
Opportunities such as the Global Webinar on Traditional and Integrative Medicine allow her to share clinical experience while continuing to build connections between acupuncture and the broader healthcare community.
